High-quality bibliographic information
We can provide free high-quality bibliographic information about all of the titles you order from us. Our dedicated team enhance the information that is generally available and provided by publishers, so that our data meets all established industry standards.
We check and correct all the core bibliographic information (title, author, illustrator, editors, binding, edition, series etc) using AACR2 cataloguing principles. We add Deweys to non fiction, using sensible truncation to reflect the needs of childrens’ and teenage collections. We apply LCSH Sears Subject Headings for Schools and Public Libraries, and we add BIC and UKSLC codes. Our team review all mainstream UK children’s publishing and apply themed keywords after we have read each title.
We are also part of the BIC working party to update UKSLC in line with the Thema codes.
Receive your books shelf-ready
Our data can include your accession numbers/barcode data, if you have asked us to apply barcodes on your behalf. This means that your stock will arrive shelf ready, so your students can loan it immediately – saving you lots of valuable time.
It's easy to import your data
Our data is provided in UKMarc, Marc21 and MarcXML formats. We generally recommend that customers import Marc21 as it provides the richest data.
At the point of invoice, we will send you an email containing a download link. Please ask your system supplier for instructions on how to import the file to your LMS. We support all of the following systems and most others:
